Ive Rped in many games before (Wow,IT,Guild wars 2, etc) and this my first time coming to the FF side of things. Typed Final Fantasy Roleplay into the search bar and this site came up, after looking around Im hoping to get some questions answered and some friends made . I guess I should start with the questions.  -Which out of the two is the best RP server? Ive only seen the two mentioned here so Im guessing their both pretty big. -Any good casual to hardcore RP guilds or groups? -Ill need some tips for a first timer about the game, seems very different from other MMO's Ive played.  - Controller or keyboard? I tried the PS3 beta and hated the controller scheme.  -Any quick notes on lore? Im not up on the whole lore of the FF world.  I think thats all Im curious about as of now. Im always up for a PM :3 And please forgive the username XD Had to come up with something fast.

Balmung is, by far, the larger of the two communities.  This is, of course, not to say Gilgamesh is dead (I'm on there, I know!).  What I would recommend is making an alt on each server and seeing what hotspots, prime times, and free companies (guilds) best suit you. I'd also surf through the linkshell hall to take a look at the free companies who are on this site, though there are many in-game that are not on here that I would also recommend looking at. As for the game mechanics itself, I use the keyboard and find it rather similar to any tab-target game.  Certain classes have quirks that you'll need to get used to, but it's rather simple once you get the hang of it. I would check the forums for lore.  Some members of the community have done amazing work organizing the lore... and I still need to read most of it, because I am terribly noobish at the lore in this game.  Eheheh. Anyways, welcome again!

The points made by Edalyne are as valid as they get (Balmung being larger, but Gilgamesh still being totally viable). I'm more of a PvE player, but I do RP when I feel like it.
