UPDATE!
Before I write anything else, I want to make it clear that the Exiled Order is not done, and the LS is not over. We have built a foundation, and are -now- going to use it to try and get into the open-world. Basically, I have to admit, I have kinda run out of ideas for the Ishgard plot for now, and really did not want to admit it to myself or anyone else. This is simply because I find Ishgard lore kinda lacking opportunity for character conflict. It would be better if people played loyal Ishgard knights and inquisitors like people play Garleans. But, unfortunately, my search for antagonists turned up one inquisitor who never plays and Xydane who was great, but is now done with the plot for now. Also, because it turned out that we were not actually facing the Faces of Mercy, Ishgard antagonists are not as viable now. The truth is, fighting NPCs is going to get old. HOWEVER! A recent IC occurrence with one of Kiht's contacts was quite alarming. There is a new plot starting in the community, and Kiht has more than enough reason to get involved, but at first, I did not see why the exiles would. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=7284 The new revelation is now going to pull her in, and it would likely give most of your characters reason to get pulled in as well. I am not certain if this is ok with the DMs of the plot, so I will ask them. In chapter one, we built a foundation group of exiles and expatriates. They are now trying to start over, and live new lives in the rest of Eorzea. I do not want to give any spoilers, but there is a great reason for them to get involved in this new plot. I will, of course, continue to lead our LS, but once we take part in someone else's plot, I will not be a DM/GM anymore. I can, however, represent our interests. Again, I need to ask permission before we can get involved in any way, but one of the DMs kinda already game me a huge hook into the plot. If anyone wants more details on why their character might get involved, send me a PM. I just do not want to spoil anything here. |

My character Dresden is a fanatical Holy See devout. His initial agenda is an active heretic hunter that drags escaped Ishgardians back home for sentencing be it in chains or in a body bag. (You can check out my wiki down thar if you want to know more about his history.)Â If you're looking for that kind of antagonist for plot purposes, by all means hit me up.

Hmmm, personally, as much as it comes to Vincent, Ul'dah doesn't really fall in his kind of interest right now, though maybe I will look up that new plot as another of my characters.
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." -- N.C. |

You guys don't seriously meta, do you? If so it might be a problem if I offer my character as an antagonist and you avoid him because of meta information.
Dresden doesn't wear a sign that says 'Holy See Here -- Start Running'. He uses espionage and information gathering so his cover isn't blown. When he hunts, he wears a mask so he can keep on hunting other Ishgard deserters. |
