Nono slipped out of his chair, the expression on his face not changing. He followed her out the door and wandered into the market. The bustle of people and the sunlight were a sharp contrast to his recent ventures, but he was used to them nonetheless.
This had been his life for so long and he thrived here. The commerce, the deals, the coin exchaning hands. This was the part that his mother had never quite gotten down. The part his sister had so miserably failed to even grasp. And the part that Ruru never knew. Acquiring goods was one thing, but he had never known the thrill of the deal, the contracts or the money.
He followed Aya at a distance until he saw her stop and look at some items at one of the stalls. He knew this was the time to begin. He took a deep breath and walked deliberately toward the stall and then as he neared, he forced himself to trip and stumble into her from her flank. He backed away and held his hands up in an apologetic manner and shook his head in an embarrassed way. With his short red hair and expression, he looked exactly how a child would when embarrassed for a major mistake.
"Oh my!! I am so sorry! I can't even walk on my own two feet anymore."
