Generally I would say pick the server that has your friends on it; but seeing as how you're new, I would spend some time at peak hours (roughly 4pm-12am central time from what I've noticed) and see what appeals to you more. On Balmung (where I play), the Quicksand (Ul'dah Adventurer's Guild) typically has a lot of RP around that time. 2. I believe you're referring to what is called the Glamour System in FFXIV. There's a quest you have to do to unlock it. You can find most of the information about it here: http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Glamours My life is a chip in your pile. Ante up!
