A majority of us tend to RP on only one server so we don't know if we just always imagine that the grass is greener on the other side.
They both have their communities. My observations based on posts in forums are that Gilgamesh RP tends to stay within the housing areas, LS, FCs and community made calendar events.
Balmung RP seems to be everywhere and in between though we do have our share of naysayers. Either trolls or "bad" Rpers or both. I've seen or heard about cases of godmodding, powergaming, and metagaming. You will almost always seem some type of conversation going on in Quicksand and the communities are building RP for Limsa.
