The Europa Linkshell doesn't have an inactivity issue by the by. Just felt like I needed to state that, in case anyone is reading this debate as a "Woah things are dead everywhere dude". We do a linkshell-shift to prune inactive members and make space for new ones once every 3 months to keep having space, with frequent pokes for RP going about as it should be, and chatter in between.

One thing that any broad RP linkshell/FC/whatever would face, in my eyes, is that different people want different types of RP, spreading both across the light-heavy scale and the various settings, like bar rp, action rp, romantic rp and so on. So, sometimes someone might offer something they think is awesome, but there's perhaps only 5 people in total that's interested in that particular thing, and maybe two of those are shy and don't dare actually speaking up. I can see how that could lead someone to think, if I'm in a linkshell with 100 people, why am I only getting response from 3?
And the same thing in turn can make people think like, "I'm in a linkshell with 100 people but no one is ever offering something I want to do". I'm not shy of stating that there's some RP'ers I can't see myself RP'ing with because they do not take the lore as much to heart as I am, and their perception of things would negatively impact my character (leading to ye olde "This person must be insane" conclusions being passed about), and it's not cause I want to be Queen Mean, but it's just how it is - as well as it's not everything I can get my characters involved in due to their skillsets/habits/moveability etc.
So but anyways, because EU timezone players are a minority anywhere, I think it's more visible within our groupings. How you tackle that, I don't know, I don't really think you can/should - but maybe it could help a bit on the feeling of things to know what could be a consequence of the many style choices of RP.
