It's still an MMO. Sorry to inform you, but just about anything they add to the game is going to be just this. It's how every MMO in existence operates.
You spend money, they give you a meaningless repetitive task to do that takes twice the amount of time required for the money you spent. Then you spend more money to finish it because you're OCD.
