If ARR proves to be a success we very well may need a secondary server to hold the overflow of new RPers. Having a global one could help in that sense.
The server designation is purely to let new RPers who are joining the game know what server there are RPers on. It's easier to RP if.. you know, we're on the same server. Of course there are RP communities that have popped up elsewhere, and they have always been welcome to use this site as well (the only LS advertisement frowned upon has been for a non-RP shell on another server). Designating a server is merely an attempt to unify as many of us in one place as we can, and it's been helpful in keeping the RP community thriving. So using this as an argument for the other website seems insignificant.
The facts of the matter remain:
-No attempt was made to discuss any personal problems with Kylin before the new website was created and promoted by Soren/Lior or any of those from whom he has garnered support for his new website.
-Soren/Lior deliberately sought out support from those he observed did not associate with Kylin or expressed dislike of him, such as members of TALE who have had past personal issues with him and/or the RPC. Others contacted for support were those who are not members of the optional OOC linkpearl for RPers, Backstage, but are RPers, so may have bias against the RPC (because Backstage is promoted here for socializing and coordinating RP).
-Soren, who has been quietly "observing" for 10 months under this alias Lior after a long hiatus from the game, rather than being an active member of the RP community, has decided he knows what is best for it.
-Soren/Lior has refused to post here his (and his supporters') reasons for not speaking to Kylin prior to making his website, after numerous requests. Despite claiming he considered it, he is unable to provide actual reasons to support his claim against Kylin's administrative style (more recent than 2 years ago) other than personal bias against Kylin (claiming Kylin OOCly has an 'egotistical' agenda due to Kylin's RP-storyline and style of RP). This lack of separation between OOC/IC is disturbing and Soren's refusal to 'reiterate' things said in the Backstage pearl discussion for this public forum does little for his cause.
I won't say what's been said already here. Another website would not harm the community, but the manner in which this has been done and is being promoted, will.
