Limsa Lominsa and the arcanist guild would be a good place to start for his origin. Most of the seekers and keepers there are non-traditional (so it would explain his non-cultural name) and the Arcanist guild would be a good place to start with since they are basically the brain's of Limsa. Starting out as an Arcanist and transitioning into Astroligian would be cool to experiment with IMO, since we have 6+ months till 3.0.  (I think) Which would be enough time to build him up as a character towards astroligian.
