Currently, I have 2 characters: Hyur Midlander who is a Rogue/Ninja, and a Wildwood Elezen who is an Arcanist/Summoner.
Being a former World of Warcraft player and having been a roleplayer since I was 12 or so, the way I write a character's personality and background has alot to do with what race and class he is. FFXIV (and FFXI before it) introduced the ability to switch between classes/jobs on the same character...
... However, it is something I am STILL not all that comfortable with. Gameplay wise, I can see how effective it is, but as an RP'er, it disturbs how I form and play my characters. So I still usually have just 1 class/job per character (though I have tried a few other classes with my Elezen, I keep him as an Arcanist/Summoner).
And so I ask you guys, what Race and Class/Job combination do you prefer on your characters?
Do you have the same "stigma" as I do with having one certain class/job per character, or do you enjoy having your character be every class/job the game has to offer? Maybe you prefer being a certain role, like the Disciple of Magic or only using Tank classes/jobs?
BONUS QUESTION!:
If you are going to make an Au Ra when the expansion comes out, what main class/job would he/she be?
