Light Steel/Taffeta were mostly there because you couldn't dye these sets originally and made for a decent enough reason to grind crafting.
Seeing as we're going to go into an expansion soon there's no point in grinding crafting to 4-star (I personally want 3-star Weaver because it's the only universal male skirt in the game). It's not like there'll be anything past 4-star, and likely all that melded shit will be replaced with a level 51 HQ crafting piece.
Although, we don't know what kind of gear will be expected of us in the expansion.
