I have agree with Zeah completely, and honestly. XI's PC interface was not difficult to use. It DID take a long time to get used to, but you could get used to it. Everything is exactly like you said, you just need patience.
I only mentioned APB because I heard of that unsettling rumor. It has barely been out and it was already shut down? I did a quick google search about it and found this;

And about why the features of XI were not put into XIV, I got this funny idea while walking around campus at college that came from that thing I heard a long time ago that when FFXIV would come out, Square Enix would keep XI up for a year before closing it down/completely ceasing updates, I forgot which it was. Maybe they are planning on doing this so that they can release XIV early and give it a year to 'Catch up and exceed' XI before completely quitting on XI?
