Shakka is at that kind of crossroads in his life, where he needs to decide whether to take a risk and let go of his past experiences in order to move forward, or to stay as he is and focus on his goal only, which is to make his family happy. Pursuing his own happiness would mean losing some of the control and giving it to someone else.
