Val has killed people. He doesn't feel the slightest bothered by it. In fact, it's how he feels one should deal with problems. If they're a big enough issue, get rid of them. He won't kill a person that bumps into him, but he doesn't rule it out as an option if someone is attempting to harm him or someone he holds dear. He's also pretty promiscuous and has had a lot of unwed intercourse and all that, convinced wives/girlfriends to cheat on their spouses/significant others, etc.Â
Melfice, on the other hand, has also murdered. He isn't bothered by it, but he feels differently than Val. Val feels as if their deaths are justified because they tried to slight him. Melfice feels their deaths are justified because they are lesser beings than him, and most of the time their deaths were for some purpose beyond their otherwise mundane existence (For science!). He's experimented on people, left them disfigured and deformed, and toyed with others simply to gauge what reaction it may have on their lives--including those he supposedly loves. He has also raped someone before, and while he likes to pretend to be apologetic about it, he's really not. It was a means to an end, and a way to teach someone a lesson the only way he knew how they'd listen.
Cyrus.. his ideal of a sin is looking at a woman's cleavage. He's far too nice. He doesn't steal, doesn't say "bad" words, and tries to keep himself sin-free.
Vallois has also murdered, but unlike Val or Melfice, he does so because he was paid for it. He's a mercenary, and if someone requires being killed, he'll do it so long as the pay is decent enough.
