My first RPGs were Dragon Warrior and the original Final Fantasy, actually. Oh, and gold cartridge Zelda, if that counts.
I only mentioned Breath of Fire as one of my particular favorite non-Final Fantasy series, but I've played quite a few. Chrono Trigger/Cross, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Secret/Legend of Mana, Wild ARMs... actually, almost all of the "older" RPGs that have been mentioned so far in the thread. It started tapering off around... Morrowind, I think. I think MMOs started eating into my "normal RPG" time.
Heck, the original Tactics Ogre: LUCT for the PSX was a personal favorite singular RPG game (which led to me getting the PSP remake), as was Shining Force II. But I also tried my hand a couple lesser known titles like the horribly translated Robotrek (I even did a gimmick LP of it a while back), Chrysalis, and Legacy of the Wizard.
Oh, and Harvest Moon is considered an RPG, too. So that's one a bunch could add to their lists.
