God, I almost sort of miss the carnival-barker types hucking water in the hot summer sun. Or the dudes with the grill selling hot dogs and stuff right on the corner. Yes, that hot dog smell is nice during the 4 hour endurance test, baking on the sidewalk in the windless heat waiting to get your pre-order badge. There is one stretch where I always pray that the sprinklers are active by the time we turn get to it.
