Alothia was involved in some pretty self-serving crimes when she was younger. She managed to change when someone that she was fairly close to ended up getting hurt.
If that hadn't had happened, Alothia would probably be a very different person.
Instead of having run Corvus Cinis, she would have continued to run her little gang of criminals in the back alleys of Ul'dah. Chances are that she would have gotten caught in her own game at least once, and become mentally and physically scarred from the ordeal, or have ended up dead on some side street. Â The latter would probably have been the better of those options. All in all, Aly can be pretty scary when faced with a situation that induces stress, her reactions becoming sporadic and unpredictable, especially with her magic. People would have ended up dead, and by her own hand.
My guess is that eventually she would have been caught and given up to judgement at the hands of the people in charge. Yay jail or execution~!
