Having had to price things for sale internationally in the past, it's pretty standard to input a USD price, a euro price, a pound price... wherever you intend to sell it. Disturbing to me that SE feels they can just ignore that.
Blizzard do the same thing with WoW related services. In fact, they actually increased the already expensive cost for paid services for UK customers specifically.
It sucks, but unfortunately UK customers being screwed over isn't anything new. I do hope that they at least explain their reasoning as I'd respect them for their honesty.
