I'd like to think that most of our characters have at least some part of us in them, no matter how small. As diverse as my characters are, from the spectrum of Val being only in it for himself to Cyrus wanting to do everything in his power to help people and Melfice wanting to just study them in general, there are small quirks and traits that I've given them that I share with them.
As for history, I try to keep my personal life history out of my roleplay, and there are certainly some decisions that my characters make that I wouldn't have done.
