Imagine someone poking that anthill. Imagine Evangeline feeling sorry for the ants going, "Clearly these ants should live in a place that cannot be poked." Imagine Evangeline constructing a new anthill, a better anthill. One of stone and steel, high walls and deep caverns, orderly hallways and wide chambers. Imagining those ants not being interested in moving. Imagine Evangeline kicking over the anthill.
