The thing is; I highly recommend the profanity filter to be on, just in case.
While I'd have no problems with my kid (I don't have one, so being hypothetical here) playing an MMO, the fact of the matter depends on the MMO (IE TERA being a no-no because I don't need to explain to them why X character is practically wearing nothing).
Though I don't see a problem with him trying out FF14, him being supervised is kind of a must, just because reasons.
