The Karluks were conquered and folded into the Mongolian empire by the first emperor, Ghengis Khan, who bestowed the title Arslan the Sart to Arslan Khan, effectively naming him a son of the emperor. So, Arslan is a Mongolian name, after a fashion.
That's my reasoning for using the name, though it may not be 100% lore compliant. I suppose I could change it, though. Re-rolling is easy; I've only done like, three quests.
Arslan originated in middle Eurasia, with Iranic, Mongolian, and Turkish variants -- it means 'lion.' There was a lot of word borrowing going on in Eurasia, just as you see happening in Europe and America. So you're good!
