A lot of people are scared to do so. Â There is often pushback ooc when your character reacts in a prejudiced or racist manner.
Yeah, it's a sad truth. Personally I'd like to see this side of Eorzea more respected. Less mixed races/mixed clans couples (there's waaaay too many of them), and more racism/prejudice/negative IC reactions to them. The good news is that my xenophobic character has lots of fodder, I guess?
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
