I have the feeling that the lack of walk-ups in general RP has less to do with people not being able to identify who is IC/looking for RPÂ and more to do with simple confidence and willingness to approach a stranger.
As most people have said, the search info usually does a good job of holding information about RP. I've seen some with things like 'send a tell for walk-ups' or 'IC if minion is out' which seems to be doing the job just fine.
While I commend the idea, I personally feel it's solving a problem that isn't there.
