He had hoped to sleep in a bit, he rarely had days of liberty, but here they walked the markets of Ul'dah. "Let it go! Let it go!...." sang the little miqo'te. Erik cringed, he was so sick of that song. He regretted taking her to that play in Ishgard about the thaumaturge princess. Day and night his sharp ears could hear her sing that damn song throughout the Hall....
Hopeful to interrupt, "So what sort of business shall we see to Dear?" Lenna stopped singing and looked up, "I'm hungry! Can we eat before going to work?" Erik looked down, "I suppose so." Lenna put her hands on her hips as her father often did, shaking her head, "Godd, good. We need a full belly to protect the realm." Erik nodded with a half hearted salute, "As you say my Lady."
After breakfast she insisted they walk across the way to the Hall of Flames. "Let's go see the Flame General! I wanna see his no-arm!" Erik frantically silenced his daughter, "Shuu! Do not say things like that. And even if I knew him, which I do not, you have to be a uniformed officer to go deeper then this into the Hall." She ignored him as her train of thought shifted and she ran to the front counter where a Lalafell quartermaster sat, reading a book. "Excuse me! I need a uniform!" The Lalafell smiled and put down his book, "Why yes ma'am, let me see...... Well we are out of Miqo'te uniforms I am afraid Miss. Where are your parents?" She paid him no mind, "That's ok I'm a Highlander too, do you have any highlander uniforms?" The quartermaster corked an eyebrow, "... What?" Erik walked up behind her, "I am sorry Lieutenant, she can be excitable." The Lalafell laughed, "I understand. I have one of my own. Listen I'm not suppose to do this, but here." Lenna took the box as he handed it over to her, "We have a bit of an over stock in Lalafell uniforms, this one is just in the way. Would you mind taking it off my hands Miss? It is about your size." Lenna squealed as she dashed into a restroom and changed into the uniform. Stepping out she again placed her hands on her hips like her father and posed for the giggling gathering of soldiers. The quartermaster and Erik walked over to her, "My word Miss, you stand like a leader of Flames." She nodded, "Very good.... very good.... I'm glad you noticed..... you're promoted."
