This is -exactly- what this particular forum is for! Although, I'd recommend a post in the Welcome section too, to help spread some awareness.
I'd recommend also adding in when you're typically in game, including timezone. You can also add the timezone in the User CP too.
If you're looking to get out a little more, but aren't sure if you're able to reach out to others, you might like looking though the events section as well. If there are a few events that work well with your schedule, I'd recommend trying to post in the thread that it'll be your first time in the event and it could help others reach out a little too.
