I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but, one thing that's often overlooked is that the server transfer cost includes up to 8 characters as long as your account type is one where you're paying for multiple character slots (they have a monthly fee that allows up to 8 per server, or, a monthly fee that only allows 1 per server, so if you're the former, then you're good to go). All characters to be transferred must come from the same origin server and must have existed for at least 3 real-world days and have nothing in their mail.Â
So if you like having an alt or two, it's worth it to go ahead and create them and transfer them as a batch even if you don't think you're ready to actually play them at all yet. That way they're already on Balmung and ready for you to use whenever you do feel like you want to get started on them.
