Xenosaga being trash compared to Xenogears has no bearing on the fact that their 1 to 3 installments actually worked, though 3 took too long and released without much fanfare in NA (granted, 2 was... certainly a thing and part of the reason why the fanfare wasn't there).
In so far as installments are concerned... wasn't Life is Strange successful (except last chapter which released 1 month later than it was planned)? At least on the SE publishing side?
Oracles of Ages/Seasons was more of a Pokemon thing, just so you know.
Honestly I'm hoping for a whole lot of fleshing out. Give me all the lore details. I might hate the game and most of its characters but if they do that I'd certainly be interested.
