Is what it is on both our parts.

I also noticed those questions are not being answered as well, or with truthful answers as they should be.  There are two different things I will be communicating here: My opinion as well as the basic facts of our "Community".
Â
Many of the most prominent members of the community here, they don't want whats best for their fellow players. Â You can see it in the fake throw away comments that they make, you can see it in the way they conduct themselves, you can see it in the way they speak about their characters, but take little to no interest in yours. Â Sure, we all speak about our own characters, but you know when we do that, we are meant to be sharing the experience of creation, rather than boasting our characters over and over to others until we grow weary of them at all, and the only people that will RP with them, are either starstruck members who don't care or don't know better, and/or those with egos to match theirs who can stand in relative companionship with a head so big you can barely fit in the room.Â
I see comments in various linkshells and whatnot complaining about 'RPC celeb whining'Â and I typically roll my eyes at it until I see it happening myself. I think there are definitely those that feel a little more....entitled to feel like they lord over the community and I think there are some that are just doing the best with what they've got.
I know a few people who have come to the RPC with hooks, characters and ideas and just get royally ripped apart. I'm one of the most stuck in the mud (lore, etiquette) RPers I know and if I can give these folks a nod then I really don't see what anyone elses issue is. It's at the point now where if a person comes to me with an idea or character I try to hook them up via my own knowledge and connections rather than refer them to the RPC as a source for connections or friends. ESPECIALLY if it's their first rodeo because the last thing I want is to have them come here and get hit in the face with...well. The RPC.
There is some elitism I notice. A sincere lack of effort from longstanding members of the community to venture outside their bubbles and established friend circles. An eagerness to comment, judge and correct and a disinterest in actually assisting or welcoming a new player. And no, padding your FC active player numbers doesn't count.
I can only really condemn this so much though. If it's not broke then why fix it? If you've got a good thing going with your group then why go out of your way to introduce a foreign element? Maybe there just isn't enough time to hit up the posts and ideas. I get it, I really do. Just don't be surprised when 'RPC celeb whining' is how people end up feeling.
