Show Content Fifty Times ♪ [Savo makes a soft melody, simple and elegant.  It lacks all pretense.  Just walking arpeggiated chords in a minor key.] ♪ ♪ [She sings for Rinda'li, the Keeper, to hear...] ♪ “If you had been my brother, you would have been told this” ♪ “That with our cousins to the south we were not meant to mix” ♪ “Rather than love mates use their claws to take their pick” ♪ “‘They aren’t like us’ we would say, and keep away from it” ♪♪ ♪ [Savo picks up her voice a little.  It cracks to sing the lines...] ♪ ♪ “So I can’t tell why you’re smiling” ♪ “When she’s here it’s like a glare in my eye” ♪ “You could explain to me why you love her” ♪ “Fifty times and I still won’t know why” ♪♪ ♪ [The girl returns to the simple melody and sings for y'Taeya, the Seeker...] ♪ ♪ “And if I had been your sister, I would have heard them say” ♪ “Never trust a mooncat, their cold and mysterious ways” ♪ “They call out to the moon and spit upon the day” ♪ “They’re cruel and hate-filled cats you had best never fall prey” ♪♪ ♪ [The viol stays expert and true, but the girl is ashamed to sing...] ♪ ♪ “So I can’t tell why you’re smiling” ♪ “Can you even see when the moon is in the sky?” ♪ “You could explain to me why you love him” ♪ “Fifty times and I still won’t know why” ♪♪ ♪ [The viol sings its chords stronger now.  Pure four octave minor key chords, the kind that echo best] ♪ ♪ “But then I saw you two” ♪ “In fading sunlight” ♪ “Shadows grew long” ♪ “Your silhouettes were entwined” ♪“In these rare times” ♪ “You stand side by side” ♪ “Caught in between” ♪ “The day and the night” ♪♪ ♪ [The girl plays a simple refrain, tapping the fretboard to ring the notes so she has a chance to wipe her eyes with her right hand.] ♪ ♪ “My heart filled my throat” ♪ “To witness this sight” ♪ “Of sun embracing moon” ♪ “At dawn and at twilight” ♪♪ ♪ [Finally Savo smiles to sing...]♪ ♪ “So I can tell why you’re smiling”  ♪ “Even the thought brings a tear to my eye” ♪ “Don’t bother explaining that you’re lovers” ♪ “I’ve seen you at dusk and can tell everyone why” ♪♪
