It was okay, kinda heavy on the wish fulfillment for nerd boys. I loved the references and I felt it was fun to read a video game/VR story where it seemed like an actual game and didn't substitute generic fictional equivalents for real world pop culture and games. (A similar appeal to Snow Crash) The last bit of it was rushed and I felt some characters were underdeveloped. Supposedly a movie is being made of it. 「蒼気砲」を使わざるを得ない!
