Hey Everyone, I've been tossing around this idea of setting up some simple "pick up RP" so that new members can meet and get involved with the others in the FC and also so that if folks are bored, they can find someone to roleplay with. Here is the write up I posted to our forum: Show Content Repost behind spoiler... having someone(s) to turn to when you're bored, wanting to RP for a bit, but aren't up for trolling through Ul'dah looking for true random encounters (a la Craigslist). This could take a few forms: 1. Slice of life, per character. Me personally, I'm most at home here. An example would be sitting around the fire outside the Bureau, discussing what we've been up to recently (as Tin tries eating the questionable soup and discovers a dead frog in the kettle). This is the easiest to do and can lead to further, more in depth, rp. 2. "Let’s go on an adventure!", also per character. I'm always down for some more in-depth stuff. This type will take at least a little planning out. So, for example: Your character is seeking revenge on some bandits that raided your village and killed your family. Message me and I'll sit with you to hammer out a few details, or at least a starting point, and we'll roll from there. 3. "Meanwhile, back at the Bureau...", FC plot devices/story. This would be something anyone can drop in and out of, but we will need the officers to agree on what direction, story wise, the FC is going. Examples would be: [FC specific stuff here]. I am usually available for this sort of thing, so feel free to send me a tell or mog mail. I have three characters in the FC and another 4 outside; if it’s in-depth rp, I will discuss which character may be a good fit for the story and am willing to npc (absolutely no perma-death though). I will be flexible and will go along with pretty much anything. I do ask that you be flexible as well, sometimes a story arc will take a surprising turn. I’m here to help the newer members of the FC, so this idea is geared more for those who may not yet be familiar with others in the FC or who haven’t yet established any rp connections. But of course anyone may join in. If anyone wants to assist me with this, please reach out to me; I welcome the help. What do you guys think? Ok,so thus far, the response from the FC has been very positive. Now I find myself with this half-baked idea and am not sure how to make it happen. I'd kind of gotten as far as posting some PSAs to the FC chat and having people contact me through tells or mog mail, but now I'm thinking this may take a bit more work than I expected. Does your FC have something like this going? Any suggestions are appreciated!
