Guess I'll offer my own thoughts and try not to be repetitive...
1) I... actually liked this installment of the MSQ. I was prepared to look for problems, but I think SE's writing team is actually learning something. So, good patch. Don't faint.
2) "The Punch" was especially satisfying, not because of how the story made me feel about Emanellain (or "Mayonnaise" as a few people are calling him), but because Thancred basically made a man out of the boy, something even Edmont could not do, and provided one of the best character development opportunities seen since 2.0.
3) Minfilia, perfectly handled - she gets her screen time to appease her fans, but for her non-fans, she's just handled. Curtain, applause.
4) Y'shtola rapidly approaching total bad@$$ status, possibly being primed for greater leadership.
5) SE still yoinking song references, but... it is oddly satisfying. Bonus points for "up the down staircase" literary reference.
