Being from the EU has its drawbacks, especially because our community used to be a lot more... conflict based for roleplay, most on the US shy away from that type of roleplay, and I miss that.
FFXIV provides a lot more value for money as far as I'm concerned - since the overall package is just better and more consistent for me. It's a little shaky at times but the amount of new content added far surpasses what a lot of other MMO's offer. The fact that it's heavily influenced by the single player Final Fantasy games - which I practically grew up with - is a major plus as well.
