Sounds like a pretty good plan to me! As someone who's like 3 months in, I know soaking in the lore can be a lot like trying to drink from a firehose. There ought to be a fairly good selection of merc companies out there, but take a look around at Linkshells too. Since those are fairly non-committal and non-FC, it'll give you some good chances to branch out beyond just your FC (not having all your eggs in one basket, pretty much)!Â
If nothing else, you're certainly welcome to run into Kasi sometime- she's also a mercenary as well as a wandering trader, albeit a freelance. There'd probably be some common ground there- Kasi sometimes needs some help with the bigger jobs or doesn't have the time to do all of hers.Â
