I think I've only approached anything close to vitriol a couple of times on these forums, and it's never been directed at you. With you, I just get a little exasperated, which until recently I thought was entirely intentional. lol Although maybe it is. We may never know.
I think you come at these threads from a perspective many here don't share. You seem to revere this Reddit-style "dispassionate debate," and I think a lot of people here reject that fundamentally. Also, you have a history on these forums, and a reputation, as you seem to know. I hope? People see one of your threads and... well, rightfully expect a sensational topic.
Semi-off topic, but you talked about assuming everyone on this forum would be left of center, and you seem to include yourself in that? Heh, I must say I assumed from past posts you were far, far right of center. It could just be that I'm leftleftleftleftsuperleft soooo everything seems right leaning to me.
