Omg omg! Spell! Welcome to Final Fantasy! You're going to love it no matter what character you ultimately decide upon, the story quests are amazing. I'm on Balmung as most, it's sort of the main RP server but unless you get really really lucky you will likely have to pay for a transfer to get over here. Like everyone says the community is big enough to do pretty much any kind of story you want. Good luck!
