Hey, welcome to Balmung! I always wanted to give TSW more than a fifteen minute try, but the character customisation felt limited at release when I first played so I found myself drifting off. If you're interested in similar dark, gritty themes and possibly in search of a Free Company, I'd suggest giving The Blackguard a look and seeing if it's your cup of tea.
