Precedent is actually not evidence (it's a form of legal authority). You're probably referring to evidence of a past tendency or occurrence, which has questionable evidentiary value -- especially when the times and facts change. And boy are they different now than in 2.0.Â
The fact of the matter is no one knows what SE will do in terms of designated an official RP server. But the more people who request for them to designate an official RP server, the more likely they will be to do such a thing.
