MOBA = Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. It's really just an arena where you choose characters and battle it out, like it says on the tin. DotA (Defence of the Ancients), League of Legends and SMITE are three examples of MOBAs.Â
As for myself, I'm nonbinary but I do have a preference of playing male characters. I have no real reasoning other than the fact that I just like playing male characters over female. I honestly don't understand the whole "your gender vs your character" thing as I just thought "just play what you like" as some character aesthetics may look more appealing on one gender than another (for example the black scales on male au ra make me want to play a male one more than female, not to mention I'm not fond of female's tiny size). I have been mistaken for being male repeatedly, but that's because people look at my model and don't really get to listen to my irl voice (as I don't actually mention my gender).
