BACKSTORY:
Born Alicia Lizabeth Clarke to a Gridania Hyur Man named Steve Clarke and a Doman Hyur Woman named Tsubana Oribe in Old Gridania 18 years prior to the Calamity, Alice was a happy, cheerful, normal lass living in Hyrstmill, her hometown. At 8 years old, her Aunt, unbeknowest to all involved, opened the Hyrstmill gates to let in the Ixal awaiting a slaughter of the Shroud Villages populace.
During the massacre, her father and older, twin brothers fell to the Ixal. Tsubana drove off the killer birdpeoples, only to discover her husband and twin sons were dead. She was injured in repelling the Ixal. Her husband and sons were protecting Alice. Her Aunt was shortly found and questioned, whereupon the Padjali dispatched sentenced her to exile by will of the Elementals.
Heartbroken, Alice could do aught but await her mothers possible return. Her mothers wounds were grievous indeed, but nothing the Conjurers of Stillglade Fane couldn't fix, she was assured. Her mother did return, but only now with a cane and a noticeable limp, her mother could no longer run. Spurned by her mothers well being, she started to help her mother whenever possible, doing laundry and cleaning dishes.
A few weeks after, she decided to never let the weak get hurt by the strong, and thus with a kiss and hug to her mother, set out to the Sultansworn, in Ul'dah, to become a Paladin. Her objective was simple, to become a Paladin, free or no. After 15 years of rigorous training and near deaths, she returned in plate and cloth of white and blue, a Paladin at last, blessed by her Mentor, Jenlys.
A month after return, the Ixal returned, but were slain by Alice one by one. Avenged, she felt her deceased family was. And thus she stayed, protecting Hyrstmill since. An interesting episode of that 15 year period was the infatuation of a Duskwight Elezen, Edelouix of Ishgard in the last two years of her tenure. She was like a love struck puppy following him around and doting on him when he was not looking. Many a whisper were told about how they were lovers, a claim neither would admit but was common knowledge to be true.
