Jeris' embellishments to Linette's tale gets the first laugh out of Muin at the table. He's got a rough, almost callous laugh, at first blush but then as it grows on someone, there's a good-natured sort of undercurrent to it, too. The 'old man' in this party sure was sharp, though. He could see things that went unsaid.

Soji answered for both of them, so Muin was silent, but his mismatched gaze was cast to Jeris again because, now that she was getting a little warm from all that brew, Linette wanted some answers. And that was just precious.
