Hello and welcome. That's an interesting question. For me, I went with Desmond just because I like it. It has a certain nobility to it. Also he was my fave character on LOST.  The last name (Aryll) has a two part reason; one, it is a deritive of 'Aurelianus' like my own surname. And two, Aurelianus is derived from Aureus in Latin, which means gilded or golden. Desmond comes from a merchant family and I will be taking up Goldsmithing so it fits into a neat little package.
