As an attempt to help, here's an example of finding your birth year for a character. Just an actual walk through of the concepts discussed.
Let's say a character is currently 21 years of age, was born on the 5th Sun of the 5th Astral Moon, and they did not get time-skipped (time skipped characters get the fun of losing 5 years, but still having their original birth year!).
First, subtract 5 years for the current era. That leave 16 years.
Then, subtract 16 from 1572. The result is 1556.
This character's birth date would be the 5th Sun of the 5th Astral Moon , 1556.
