It's true that the first few levels are crucial but... really? Make it -more- accessible? You get level 10 in a single evening as it is, what are they gonna do? Make people start level 10? 
I'm surprised there's even still people taking the trial.. the game is popular sure, but it's old. If I was about to play my first mmo, I'd go for one of the most recent ones.
