Trolls are bad, but old news since the start of the interwebz. While MMOs help you 'escape' and let you put on an anonymous mask, it does make it a bit more personal, as you have a representative body in the game, as they do as well.
As been noted, do your best to ignore them.
I havn't seen too much of anything this past weekend on Balmung. Once person shouted if anyone was interested in cybering with a ftua Miqo'te. Another remarked on why Balmung "shouldn't be the official rp server" (his words, not mine), but no one said anything about it afterwords. Obviously, he's not in the know of current events, and doesn't realize that no RPer wouldn't do that. I dunno.
I do feel for you, but as time goes on, the Trolling seems to get worse in games. But what other people are saying is right-- give it some time after launch and you'll soon find the player base (and trolls) drops off a bit. Gilgamesh may have it a little worse (4chan is home of Anonymous, after all), but it's bound to follow the same pattern.
And I'd like to make note that not everyone in these websites are bad, but they do have some serious numbers on them. Just give them some time to settle down. From the start of my RP career years ago I've learned it's just best to not draw attention to yourself if you want to go about peacefully. Any other means may put up a fight, but may end up in your favor as well.
