The main reason being his backstory in he doesn't really have a family anymore. All he's known for most of his life before the calamity was being forced to help a no-named band of pirates. He's not so much a "Lalafel" as he is just an adventurer trying to find his place in this crazy world.
Honestly, I think you should try it as he might try it and see where it takes you. Maybe you'll find there are more people open to the idea than you think. Siobhain might even be open to a relationship with a Lalafell if she's given a good enough reason with a good enough male Lalafell. As I said in her wiki, she'd easily sacrifice physical love for true love if it existed for her. Can't say where she'll go, can't say I'd be there 100 percent, but if there's some way to view it, I'm excited to know.
