
It's usually better to strive to adhere to racial naming conventions when they're put into place for the sake of embracing what is usually one of the more distinct and notable differences between the various playable races.Â
Exceptions do exist, but there needs to be a pretty decent reason for it and even then it can often risk becoming the norm rather than the exception in some cases. Either way, it shouldn't be terribly difficult to find a name that matches the racial naming conventions and appeals to the role-player in question. That's pretty much what I sought to do with my characters and it's the best compromise for everyone.
