
One solution, I think, is to have "open community raids." Unfortunately, the grind factor in the endgame means that's somewhat less viable, but you can get a similar effect out of the Balmung's Finest initiative, I think -- it's a great bunch of friendly people (who I hope to eventually be high enough level to group with
).
Alternatively, you can hook up with a friendly progression-oriented FC. From Unity to WildSky to Unsung Heroes, there's a lot of options available.
The nature of the grind at endgame means that, naturally, DF groups are going to be less than accommodating at times. That's why premades of people you get along with OOC are going to be your better bet.
