I didn't get the chance to get my hands on 1.0, though I enjoyed 2.0 for the most part where the main storyline is concerned. The pacing is a bit awkward at certain points - especially during the Costa del Sol portion of events - but overall I found it to be pretty intriguing and gripping.

I particularly loved how:

The Garleans are not as black and white as they initially seem. I found myself sympathising with the likes of Gaius and Livia since their motives are reasonable - and in the case of the latter somewhat tragic. I also couldn't help but note that whilst some of their methods are questionable the exact same thing can be said of the inhabitants of Eorzea. Ul'dah is full of wealthy individuals living a life of luxury whilst refugees and the poor starve nearby. The beast races - even those who have been deemed intelligent enough to roam other cities - have been cast out and treated like vermin, forcing them into banditry to survive.
Then we have the inhabitants of Limsa Lominsa who are outright stated to have broken a peace treaty with the Kobolds and driven them towards summoning Titan out of sheer desperation. The Gridanians aren't fully without blame, either - they're shown to shun injured outsiders and let them fall victim to their wounds if they aren't given the blessing of the Elementals - which in itself is heavily implied to be something rather whimsical.

As for the other aspects of the game, I absolutely adore the soundtrack and environment/character design. The dungeons are pretty fun, too - especially when the difficulty rises and certain boss fights begin to require near flawless play from all involved. Garuda is a prime example of this, though the last boss of Qarn comes to mind as well. I do think some of the fights were a bit too simple, though - but since they were part of story dungeons I think it's reasonably fair to have a mix of simple and difficult battles.
